Music

St. Luke's choir

St. Luke’s choir joins with the Gospel Choir from Woodcrest United Church of Christ, Philadelphia, at the Gospel Choir’s annual  visit and performance at St. Luke’s.

Music is a very important ministry at St. Luke’s. We sing many hymns from the church’s heritage and include more contemporary songs in our worship experience. Our Adult Choir provides leadership not only for Sunday Worship, but also for special services throughout the year, such as Christmas Eve and the Annual Music Sunday. Like the congregation, our choir members cheerfully share their musical gifts.

In addition to these worship services, a number of special concerts are held throughout the year. For over ten years the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Guild of Organists has held the Annual January Tuesday at Noon Organ Recitals at St. Luke’s. There are also separate organ recitals, piano recitals, as well as instrumental and choral performances from time to time. The sanctuary, dedicated in 1908, is especially suited for these concerts due to the excellent acoustics.

When scheduled, these programs will be announced on our website.
